This painting is rendered from a photo I took of a bluff canyon in the Torrey Pines Reserve area. It is a beautiful and exhilarating scene, but it also makes me sadly aware of the fragility of the area. The bluffs are ever-changing as they erode.

<p>Tricia McMaster is a writer and former teacher at UC San Diego, and has just recently taken up painting. &nbsp; She is inspired by her lush surroundings in Fallbrook with its blend of native and exotic vegetation. &nbsp;When she is not immersed in colors and brushes, Tricia travels and camps with her partner Keith, always looking for unusual colors and textures in nature.</p>
